Pilot TeaserA new study by Mental Health America ranking how states are handling mental health needs finds Kansas has secured the esteemed title of "dead last" in the ranking of how states address mental health needs. Meanwhile, our neighboring Show-Me State didn't fare much better, slipping to 40th from 39th just last year. Our goal through this project is to introduce our curriculum across 900 schools districts in Kansas & Missouri. Our curriculum is called "FEM Education" standing for 'Fostering Emotional Maturity,' is a comprehensive K-12 curriculum designed to nurture empathy, mindfulness, and emotional resilience, preparing students for life's challenges with compassion and awareness.

Meeting people where they are! Previously, he worked as a fractional marketing & distribution executive for tech software startups and distributed content for local KC and national brands like Yoob X Marvel Campaign, Humana, University Of Kansas Health System, Shake Shack etc. He loves to write about mental health, making content experiences, engagement campaigns, & Storytelling – All with A unique twist! His ultimate goal is to help guide a Billion people to mental health breakthrough!

Angela possesses a natural ability to articulate key messages effectively and creatively, inspiring engagement. A skilled strategist and proactive learner, Angela breaks conventional systems in an effort to enable equitable access and growth in internal and external systems.

Dr. Michael Maclin
With over 20 years of educational leadership experience, Dr. Michael P. Maclin has served in various roles, including Director of Equity, Principal, and Coordinator, Assistant Principal, Dean of Students, Associate Professor, Guidance Counselor, and Teacher. Currently, Dr. Maclin serves as Interim Superintendent for Special School District in St. Louis, Mo

Councilwoman Andrea Bough
Prior to being elected to the Council, Andrea served on Mayor Sly James’ transition team, chaired Mayor James’ Commission on Ethics Reform, and served on the most recent Charter Review Commission. She has also served on numerous other boards, including the Heartland Men’s Chorus, the Kansas City Chapter of the Missouri Eating Disorder Association, the Jackson County Community Mental Health Fund and the Jackson County Law Library.

Representative Michael Johnson
Representative Michael Johnson, a Democrat, represents Jackson County (District 23) in the Missouri House of Representatives. He was elected to his first two-year term in November 2020. In addition to his legislative duties, Johnson is an insurance agent at his own agency, Johnson Hazley Agency, LLC. He previously served in the U.S. Army. Most recently, he sponsored a bill (HB 728) that requires Missouri school districts to excuse students with mental or behavioral health concerns from attendance at school
